Copywriting, the Neglected Stepchild of Affiliate Marketing
For a lot of people new to internet marketing or perhaps even intermediates good copywriting seems to be forgotten amidst all the cacophony of SEO, PPC and social networking.
At the end of the day traffic is just a means to SELL something and good copywriting is a big part of that. How many of us have been sucked in by the shitty designs of long sales letter pages for ebooks? The design sucked but it was the copywriting that got us to buy.
Michel Fortin is one of the best known copywriters around with multiple businesses built around copywriting. He specializes in direct response and is a author, speaker and consultant. He’s also Canadian eh?
Check out Michel Fortin’s site section for beginners.
Another great resource is the Copyblogger blog. Here is his section for beginning copywriters.
Sometimes we learn by example. The Gary Halbert Letters is a site of excellent real copywriting examples you can read WITHOUT having to opt in to another email list, downloading or see in his words “Scum-Sucking Pop-Up Ad”. Thanks so much for that Gary! He’s giving away all this valuable information for free and there is not even a single tiny Adsense block on the site. I am so impressed.
Also check out copywriter John Carlton’s blog for some decent articles.
